Tonight, Dakota & I took our 3 year old nephew to the county fair. He spent the day with his grandpa who had already worn him out by the time we picked him up to go to the fair. But, we were determined to have a good time!
Once we got to the fair, he happily sat down in his umbrella stroller and we took off for the ticket booth. Before we got to the ticket booth, he realized that we did not get his "packpack" out of the car which had Woody in it. So I had to RUN back to the car to get Woody and the backpack. Once he had Woody, he was ready to go.
While I was on my way to the car, he had received a balloon from the Republican party booth. This presented a problem. You can't take balloons with you on the ride, and he was not about to let us hold it for him. I bought the tickets and he got in line for a ride. I ended up having to pop the balloon with my earring so that he would ride the ride. This caused a mental break down. "Oh no, it's broken!" he said as he cried.
We eventually got past the balloon issue and he rode the boats that go 'round and 'round. He loved it! As soon as I buckled him in, he said, "Let's go! I'm ready!" He also rode the little kid swings, the slide, and went through the fun house.
Before heading home, he ate a hotdog and Dakota and I shared loaded nachos (which weren't very loaded...). As he ate the hotdog, he kept saying, "What? A hotdog?" I have no idea why, but it sure was funny! Of course, we had to get another balloon before we headed home.
Now, he is sleeping like a baby and so is Dakota! Soon, I will be too! Good night!
