Dakota & I attend a church that we drive an hour one way to go to. We really enjoy our church, the people in it, the programs it offers to those less fortunate in the community, and the messages that they deliver. Yesterday was no exception.
Yesterday's message was all about the infamous question, "Are we there yet?"
Pastor Brian spoke about the disciples in the boat when the waves were crashing and the winds were wailing. Jesus walked across the water and they thought him to be a ghost. They were frightened and screamed. Jesus entered the boat and the waters were calmed.
The message was about being on a journey with waves. All too often when we go on a journey after just an hour in the car we have already played all the games, listened to all of our music at least once, and are bored out of our minds. However, we can't jump ship!
When we go on a journey that is worth while, there will always be waves. We must learn to overcome those waves. Those waves are the reason that we get to where we are going. If we are always asking, "Are we there yet?" we may miss out on the sights along the way.
We will all get to our own "other side" when the time is right.
Stay tuned to find out what our "other side" is...
